Josh grew up in the Bay Area (San Jose, CA). Always being involved with sports, he started playing little league baseball, football, and basketball. Realizing his height was an advantage to him he pursued basketball more and started playing year round. Making all-star teams for NJB was great because he got to travel a lot and play with some really good competition. One of the early moments that stood out for him was playing in a teacher versus Jr. High basketball team alumni game. He blocked his teachers shot ran back the other direction and dunked the basketball in 8th grade. He was offered a full ride basketball scholarship to Concordia University but declined to continue his love for volleyball. |
